First Half: Baseball
'Roid Rage!: Jason Giambi criticizes baseball only to have a failed amphetamine test “leaked” and the commissioner’s office trying to suspend him for admitted to using steroids to a reporter. Proof that the culpability lies with MLB as much if not more so than the players?
The madness of the American Civil Court system starring Dean Hancock and his lawyers.: Josh Hancock drives intoxicated, on a cell phone and with drugs and paraphernalia in his car- so why is everyone else but him responsible for his death?
The biggest hype equals biggest let down? Braves and Yankees make “statements” in their series against the Mets and Red Sox, only find themselves further out of the first by the end of the week than at the start? (Yankees are now 12.5 games out, Braves 4.5) Why does everyone make the same mistake of overrating May series every single year?
Aren't They Seeing Red? Can someone axe Wayne Krivsky already? The Reds are 18-32, the worst record in baseball. Everything’s gone south since the trade that sucked all trades last year. Even the Nationals and Royals have more hope these days than the Cinci crew.
Second Half- Basketball
Spurs/Jazz The Jazz looked dead in the water only to stun the Spurs in game three in Utah. Or is it a stunner at all? Why is it so hard for teams to win game 3’s on the road?
-Deron Williams was the man on Saturday night; will he consistently outplay Tony Parker in this series? Will it matter?
Pistons/Cavaliers Two tough losses for the Cavs. Will they rebound at home? More importantly, will they put those rebounds back from five feet away in the closing seconds of a close game?
Lebron James- Superstar but overrated? Poor performances against the Pistons follow up poor performances against the Nets. It isn’t all Detroit if Antoine Wright and Richard Jefferson can stop him- what’s wrong with Lebron, other than his jump shot? Were we too quick to anoint him the best thing in basketball?
NBA Draft lottery Grizz, Celtics, Bucks lose out despite losing out. Is there anyone except Jerry West, Bill Simmons and legions of idiotic Celtic fans who dislike the system? Should we take the advice of a soon to be out of work GM (Jerry West) or a currently out of work coach? (Jeff Van Gundy)
-Trailblazers and Sonics- The Trailblazers- the new Baby Bulls? (Thank you Danny Ainge) Aldridge, Randolph, Roy and Oden/Durant? Now if they could just find a true point guard.
-Sonics- Does this save the franchise in Seattle or should Kevin Durant start looking for homes in Kansas City or Oklahoma City? Furthermore, hasn’t the NBA learned enough from the Charlotte/New Orleans, Vancouver/Memphis debacles that relocating teams doesn’t do anything except give greedy owners new arenas?
